With it being the holidays, and eating season, I thought I’d share a recipe a day to help give you some fresh ideas in the kitchen! I’d love to hear if you try any of them, and what you think of them!
Best Rolls EVER! - A recipe I grew up with, from my mom (not my actual picture, but they look very similar)
1 Tbs Dry Yeast
1/4 C warm water (not hot)
*Dissolve in a small bowl with a pinch of sugar and set aside.
1 C Milk
1/4 C sugar
1/4 C Margarine
1 tsp salt
*Combine in a saucepan and heat to just before boiling; cool to lukewarm.
In a large mixing bowl add milk mixture to 1 1/2 C flour and 1 egg; beat till smooth. Gradually add another 1 1/2 C – 2 C flour and mix until it forms a soft dough. Cover and let rise until double. Shape into rolls or roll out into rectangle for cinnamon rolls. Let rolls rise until double and bake in greased pan @ 400* for 12 – 15 minutes. I always like to rub a little butter on the tops right as they come out of the oven.
