HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE – Day 3: Olga and Warner’s Bras – 4 Bras = 2 Winners CLOSED

Today’s feature in the Holiday Gift Guide is a little bit different in the realm of gifts. I was given 4 bras from Olga and Warner’s, to review, and it has gotten me thinking. For women, bras can really make or break our day in a sense. The comfort of a bra can definitely have some impact on my mood and just all around comfort for a day. I am always on the hunt for that perfect bra that I am not just super eager to get off at the end of the day.

Giving a bra as a gift may seem a little odd, but I say why not! I wouldn’t give a bra to just anyone, because for one, you have to know their size, but there are some instances where it could work. You would have to have the right kind of relationship with that someone you are giving the bra to, but I am also a firm believer in women getting some of what they want for Christmas. I don’t know about all of you, but my husband (bless his heart) is not the best gift giver. He truly does try, but often does not succeed. I will let him pick one or two things out on his own, with a strict budget, but the remainder of any gifts, I often will pick out (or even purchase on sale) and let him gift it to me. So why not get a bra that you will love?

I was given 2 Olga bras and 2 Warner’s bras. Because Olga bras are meant for the more full-figured woman, I gave those to my mom to try, and here is what she had to say:

“Because my daughter loves me, I was fortunate enough to be included in her Olga Bra review – either that, or I was the only full figured woman she felt comfortable enough to ask. Either way, I got to try out a couple of new bras, and who doesn’t like getting a new bra? Both of these bras were just great! The first bra was the Olga Suddenly Smooth Side Shaping bra. This bra touts “Banish side spills, bumps and bulges” and it does. It was a bit more of a bra than I like, but it definitely firmed up the side and back. It kind of reminded me of getting a nice hug all day long. The cups were smooth and well contoured. One problem area for me in bra fitting is that often the bra sides scrunch down in the underarm area, which gets really uncomfortable and creates more bulges. The Suddenly Smooth Side Shaping bra didn’t do this.  The seamless band smoothed my sides and gave a nice look under clothes. I’d probably give it an 8 out of 10. It would have easily gotten a 10, if it had one more set of hooks for me, but this was a fit issue, not the fault of the bra.

The other bra was the Olga Suddenly Smooth Minimizer. It too was just a bit snug for me, but I really liked the cup fit. Normally I don’t go for a minimizer, but this one was very comfortable, and gave the breasts a nice shape., minimizing my profile with nice added support.  I liked the fullness across the back and I didn’t have any strap slippage – a chronic problem with me. It fit me a bit better than the first bra discussed, mainly because the sides were not as deep and I didn’t feel like they were pushing up into my armpit. I really did need one more set of hooks. I don’t like going up a size in band, because it alters the cup fit for me. This bra would probably rate a 9 out of 10 for me. I think a 10 would be not wearing a bra at all! One other thing – the minimizer came to me in a blue cheetah print. My husband got a kick out of that, cuz normally I only wear white or nude bras.  I’ve worn Olga bras for years – they are always my preferred bras.”

I got the Fall In Luxe collection – two full coverage underwire styles from the Warner’s brand. I have got to say that I hate bra shopping because I have to try on a bazillion bras to find the right one. I have received 3 Warner’s bras in the mail (to date) and each one has fit perfectly. No fuss or frustrations with these bras. One of bras I received is the Convertible with lift, and it can convert easily to criss-cross for wardrobe versatility. A very handy feature if you wear a variety of clothes that you need to accommodate.

Both bras have such nice soft and silky fabric, that it feels great against your body.
