SodaStream Fountain Jet Soda Lover’s Start-Up Kit

Calling all soda lovers!! Do you ever sit at home and just crave a cold soda (or pop, if that’s what you call it)? There are definitely days where I get a major hankering for a cold diet cola. I very rarely will actually leave the house just to get that fix, but let me tell ya’, I was all too happy when McDonald’s started selling large sodas for only $1. I will admit to going through the drive thru just for my soda fix. Never fear though, because I have something EVEN BETTER for you!

Ever heard of the SodaStream, at-home soda fountains? These are A-MAZING! I can get my soda fix anytime I want (no worries though – I’m not going crazy)! Not only can you make your own soda, but this soda is better for you than the sodas you get at the store, or at a restaurant. I actually went off of Diet Soda for a short time (emphasis on the short) because I was really trying to cut aspartame out of my diet. Research has been indicating that aspartame really isn’t good for us. Fabulous thing though because the soda flavorings that come with SodaStream fountains, are sweetened with sucralose. My husband is learning all about artificial sweeteners in school right now, and there isn’t a lot of research linking sucralose to the same things as aspartame. So of the two sweeteners, sucralose has definitely got to be better!

I received the Fizz Fountain, and LOVE it! The only thing I wish differently about it is for it to be short enough to fit underneath my upper kitchen cabinets. I don’t think all machines are this tall though. To use the SodaStream fountains, you simply chill some water and add it to the bottle that comes with your fountain. Press the proper button and voila, you have fizzy, carbonated water! You can add as much or as little fizz as you’d like. Then remove the bottle from the fountain and add your flavoring. There are a variety of fountains to choose from, to fit your budget and your decor needs. I chose a fountain in red, to go along with my red Kitchen Aid that also sits on my countertop.

Now the most important question that you may be asking is how does it taste? I have now tried a diet soda and a regular soda (also containing sucralose) and they are both fabulous!!! Another bonus is that the regular soda has less calories than other sodas you would buy at the store! SodaStream Fountains are sold at a variety of stores, so be sure to check out the dealer locator to find one near you. I have spotted them at my local Target and Walmart!
