What Lights Your Stomach Fires?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Omeprazole for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’ve battled serious GERD since I was a child. It took quite a while before my parents could understand what I was trying to tell them when my stomach hurt. I didn’t have the words to explain. Finally, we went to the doctor and I was diagnosed with Gastroesphageal Reflux disease – a chronic digestive disease that occurs when stomach acid or sometimes bile flows back into your esophagus. The backwash of the acid irritates the lining of the stomach and causes GERD. I know – it sounds nasty, but it’s for real for a lot of people and can be very uncomfortable and even cause other serious issues.

Back when I was a child, you could only get the needed medications by prescription, and it was rather costly. As I changed my diet, and grew, my GERD became less serious and I stopped needing medication. Well, then came adulthood, and pregnancy when my GERD came back in epic fashion. I’m able to control my GERD by diet, but when I’m not careful, or when I over indulge in those things that ‘light my fire,” I turn to Omeprazole. The best source for affordable, effective Omeprazole is Walmart! The Equate brand is 25% cheaper than Prilosec OTC and is equally effective. Equate Omeprazole exceeds all the FDA requirements and treats the same heartburn symptoms as Prilosec OTC. I always have a supply on hand, because I never know when my GERD is going to act up. I notice that fatty foods and foods high in acid are my biggest enemies.

My dad also suffers from GERD, and he takes Omeprazole regularly. If he’s not careful, and eats too late in the evening, he will be up all night with reflux. It’s not a pretty sight!

One of the worst triggers for me is orange juice, especially on an empty stomach – watch out, cuz I become the dragon lady!!

If you suffer from heartburn, do yourself a favor and give Omeprazole a try. You’ll be glad you did.
