“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for AVEENO. I received product samples to facilitate my review and promotional item as a thank you for participating.”
With 4 red headed children, I am bound to have at least one with some skin sensitivities. In fact, all but one of them seem to have different skin issues. My youngest tends to get little rashes and minor allergic reactions at the drop of a hat. No major allergies thankfully – just skin sensitivities. Then the twins seem to take turns with their different skin problems. If one doesn’t have it, then the other will. For a long time, the older twin had really rough dry skin. It was mostly on his back and I felt so badly for him. He felt like a reptile to the touch. Then it switched over to his brother, who has really dry rough thighs. I finally took him into his doctor who said it was eczema. Poor guys!
In honor of National Eczema Awareness Month (yes that exists, and it’s during October!), I thought I’d share what I’m using for my kids’ skin conditions. I recently received AVEENO® Eczema Therapy baby products and I am loving them! I often used AVEENO lotions on my babies so I’m not sure why I didn’t continue the regimen on my kids as they got older. You can get the AVEENO Eczema Therapy for babies or adults, so pick the one that is more applicable to you and your family. The nice thing about the therapy is that it works in a two-step process. If I use a two-step process on my face (cleanse and moisturize) then why not with my kiddos?
First you use the Eczema Therapy Soothing Bath Treatment, which is an envelope that you dump into the bath water. This contains a colloidal oatmeal skin protectant and can also soothe the skin. If eczema isn’t your issue, then perhaps insect bites, rashes, and other itchy things are! This therapy boasts that it can soothe all of those itchy ailments! I just may have to try that with my daughter because the mosquitos have been LOVING her lately!
After the soothing bath treatment, use the AVEENO Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream. I love that these products are fragrance-free, because fragrances certainly don’t do anything for the skin. They are also steroid-free and feel so clean. I personally love that the moisturizer isn’t really thick and hard to rub on, compared to some other brands I have used.
If you have any family members that suffer from itchy dry skin and/or eczema, it’s worth giving the AVEENO a try. I have always been pleased with their products!
