A “Fairy Good” Family Hike to Fairy Falls

Read about the hike that my family and I took to Fairy Falls in Yuba County, California and how my sponsors at Puracyn® OTC Wound & Skin Care Solution told me about a great product that we will take on the journey with us, next time we go. This is a product-provided, sponsored conversation that contains affiliate links. I received one 4 oz. spray bottle of Puracyn® OTC Wound & Skin Care and a branded first aid kit. All opinions, text and experiences are my own.

My kids love to be outdoors, so by default, my husband and I are learning to love the great outdoors too. In the spirit of this, we spend a lot of our summer doing outdoor adventures and activities such as hiking and camping.

My son recently planned our first family hiking trip of the season to “Fairy Falls.” He wanted to be in charge of the entire trip, so he researched the place for us to go, planned a date, and even packed a backpack filled with snacks and drinks, binoculars, and was even prepared with a first aid kit!

Located between Marysville, and Grass Valley, California, Fairy Falls is a fantastic little hike for families wanting a real hiking adventure that is stroller and kid-friendly. The wooded trail follows a small river that ends at a beautiful little waterfall, that when we went (probably due to our currently low water conditions) was shallow enough for the kids to splash around in. At one point we somehow got off of the main path, and things got a tad bit treacherous, but if we had stayed on the correct path (which we did on the hike back) it would have been a very easy hike!

It was a fantastic day out as a family! The weather was beautiful, the kids had fun exploring and we ha some great quality time as a family, hiking, laughing and singing the whole way.

The next time we go, however, I plan to lighten the load (yes, I ended up carrying my son’s backpack most of the way) by replacing some items in our heavy first aid kit with doctor-tested Puracyn® OTC Wound & Skin Care Solution. This solution is ideal for hiking, camping and all other outdoor activities because it is an on-the-go, wound spray not requiring running water or messy ointments. This non-stinging spray allows you to effectively clean a cut or scrape without rinsing it with water, drying it, and then applying an additional ointment. It’s a one-step, one product process that allows you to be prepared for minor injuries without weighing down your pack with a lot of extra cleansing products.

If you have some of your own outdoor adventures planned for this summer be sure to check out the Puracyn website for more product information. Also check out their Facebook page for updates and to enter their Puracyn® Favorite Summer Firsts Giveaway to win a summer prize pack now through 7/24/14. Each Thursday a new winner will be chosen and announced via Facebook, with 4 winners chosen in all.
