Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits

Whether we are running late for school, heading to ballet or soccer practice, or we are on a family roadtrip, eating in the car just seems to happen. I wish I could say I am the type of mom who always wakes up before the kids, and prepares a lovely full breakfast before school each day. My mom is that kind of grandma, but I’m just not there yet. I stay up too late, and wake up too late, so our mornings are often rushed. I am always looking for healthier quick and easy, or on-the-go breakfast and snacking options. You moms out there know how hairy our day can get! I was excited when I heard about the new Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits, and even more thrilled when I read the nutrition label.

Honey Bunches of Oats Chocolate Chip Breakfast Biscuits

Honey Bunches of Oats has always been a family favorite cereal, and now they are out of the bowl and into a biscuit. Mornings and after-school snacks just got easier and healthier with these 100% whole grain biscuits. Each pouch contains 4 biscuits with 30g of whole grain! My kiddos have gotten to try all 3 flavors: Honey Roasted, Strawberry and Chocolate Chip, and my kids are split between strawberry and chocolate chip as their favorite.

Eating Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits

If we are really in a rush then I serve the biscuits alone, and sometimes in the car on the way to or from school and other activities. If you have a little more time, add a serving of your favorite low fat yogurt and fruit for a balanced breakfast. Now back to that nutrition label – I am happy to report there is no high fructose corn syrup or artificial ingredients. I actually recognized and could pronounce all of the ingredients! The two sweeteners used are sugar and tapioca syrup. I have read some positive things about tapioca syrup.

The new Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits are easy, nutritious and delicious. The only thing I wish was a little different was for them to stay together a little better. They break fairly easy, but they don’t crumble and make a huge mess – which is fantastic for car snacking.
