The Ridge Tahoe Resort: An Amazing Getaway For The Entire Family

The Ridge Tahoe Resort

The Ridge Tahoe is a beautiful resort nestled in the gorgeous landscape of Lake Tahoe. It’s all you would expect a serene Tahoe resort to be. As we drove up to check in we could already feel ourselves relaxing. I love the mountains with big trees, rocky terrain, blue skies and pristine waters. I was not disappointed.

We parked our car and went into the Ridge Club to check in.  As you walk in you’re greeted by a warm fire burning in a huge river rock fireplace, surrounded by comfy chairs. Honestly, that set the tone for the whole stay. We were greeted by friendly staff and given our keys. It was an all girls weekend, two moms, ten year old twins (and cousin) and my thirteen year old daughter.  We were all  excited with anticipation of walking into the room that would be our escape from the world.

Before I go any further I want to say two things. Bed and bathtub. These are the two things that make or break a vacation experience for me. Let’s just say, A+ to The Ridge. I will definitely get more into these two subjects in just a moment.

As we walked into the suite we could hear the girls giggle with excitement and I could see why. A gorgeous full functioning kitchen, that even had a blender I could use for my protein shake. The dining table was big enough to accommodate all of us for meals and game playing. You are provided with everything to easily make three meals a day.  However, you might just want to stick with two meals, so you don’t miss the scrumptious breakfast at the Club House. Our breakfast there was one of our favorite meals of the trip. I had a creamy delicious quiche and the girls’ breakfast burritos were a huge hit.

The living room area had a comfy sectional that folds out into a queen sleeper, and yes, another big fireplace. The windows were huge, let tons of great light and warmth into the room, and the view from those windows was breathtaking. We spent our second night curled up on the fold out couch with junk food we purchased for watching a movie we rented there.  It was great.

The bedrooms were beautiful. Again, flatscreen TVs and DVD players, and yet another fireplace. I love a king size bed and that’s just what I got. The best part of that bed was not that it was king size but that it was a Sleep Number bed! Yes! I’ve always wanted to try one out and it was fun, and very comfy. I never sleep my first night on vacation, but I slept great The Ridge Tahoe Resort. However, the Sleep Number bed may not have been the only reason I slept well – it didn’t hurt that I took a wonderful bath first.

The Ridge Tahoe Resort Bathrooms

I absolutely love baths. I take one every night before I go to bed. Most places I have stayed do not have great bathtubs. The Ridge had a fabulous tub. The whole bathroom was gorgeous. Big countertops and a large deep beautiful tub. That long hot luxurious bath in that fabulous tub was alone worth the stay.

The resort offers so many choices for pampering yourself. A spa with facial treatments, massages and spa packages. There is a gym, indoor and outdoor pool, jacuzzi and steam room. The kids had a great time swimming as we sat in the jacuzzi chatting with other guests. A short trip to the steam room and we were ready for some fun.

One the the best features of the Ridge is how family friendly it is. There is a movie theater on-site, tennis courts, miniature golf, and a game room with a pool table. We played a mean game of pool, that I did not win. The ping pong on the other hand was so my game. We had two games going at the same time and ping pong balls were flying all over the place. We laughed and had a great time.

The hotel provides you with a shuttle within the facility, and to town. Summer activities abound. Hiking, biking, skiing, shopping, great dining choices, live music I could go on and on.  Or you can read Erin’s post that tells all about what our South Lake Tahoe getaway. Winter, of course means skiing and we saw a great spot nearby The Ridge, that is used for sledding. I am sure Tahoe covered in snow is a thing of beauty.  We completely enjoyed our experience and I would love to go back next winter and experience The Ridge Tahoe in all of it’s snow-covered glory.
