As a mom to 4 kiddos, it can be challenging to have quality one-on-one time with each of my kids. I try to squeeze every ounce of time I can with each of my children, and we use any excuse to celebrate. Last weekend was a rarity in that all three of my teenage boys were on a winter campout with their scout leaders. Miss Bea and I took full advantage of the girl time since dad had work to catch up on. I whipped up my easy Blonde Butter Syrup and we had the perfect cozy waffle day with “Spirit Riding Free” on Netflix. This is a day you’ll want to recreate!

What to Wear?

Whether you’re having a lazy Saturday morning or a lounge-around afternoon, the apparel is key. Pajamas aren’t mandatory, but highly suggested. Either way, you’ll want to pull out your coziest clothes. We’re all about comfort for cozy Netflix and waffle days. Bea opted for pajamas and I put on some leggings and fuzzy socks.

What to Watch?

DreamWorks Spirit Riding Free

Netflix is fantastic because it’s affordable, easy to put on and has so many great options for the entire family. A binge-worthy show for mom and daughter is Spirit Riding Free. There are 7 seasons with only 6 or 7 episodes per season, so it’s an easy watch. Spirit Riding Free follows a 12 year old girl named Lucky, from a small town in Texas. New to country living, Lucky encounters a wild kiger mustang named Spirit. Between freeing a wild stallion and going on adventures with her new friends, Pru and Abigail, Lucky embarks on everyday adventures across the land. “Spirit Riding Free” on Netflix is a clean show with an empowering message for young girls – and let’s face it, our girls can use all the encouragement they can get!

What to Eat?

Now that you’ve got the right clothes and the perfect binge-worthy show for girl time, it’s time to get your grub on! Because you’ll want to get right to the comfy cozy fun, a waffle bar is a quick and easy way to treat yourselves. There’s just something special about Eggo waffles. I only wish I could keep them stocked in my freezer longer! They toast up to a delicious golden crisp in just minutes. My preferred cooking method is in the toaster oven, but I have some kids who prefer the microwave. Eggo waffles are warm, fluffy and delicious and are so easy to dress up for a decadent treat!

You could go healthy and offer fruit to top your waffles, but Miss Bea decided on Reddi-Wip, sprinkles, maraschino cherries and homemade Blonde Butter Syrup. Do you top your waffles with whipped cream? True, they could be breakfast or dessert, but isn’t that the best? Reddi-Wip uses the best dairy cream in original flavors and contains less hydrogenated oils than other frozen whipped toppings – real cream is a top priority. How can you go wrong? Even better, you can pick up everything you need for your waffle bar on your regular Walmart shopping trip!

Quality time with my girl is the best way to spend a Saturday morning and “Spirit Riding Free” on Netflix gave us some great talking points for the rest of our day. A scrumptious waffle (or two) were really just the perfect way to celebrate us. If you need more activities for your little one(s), these “Spirit Riding Free” activities are sure to be a hit.
