About Cleverhousewife

Learn about Cleverhousewife:

I live in a small town in Northern California where I work at home with my  four beautiful children. In 2005, shortly before my twins were born, I graduated from Brigham Young University – Idaho. I got my Bachelors Degree in University Studies, with a Minor in Music and an Emphasis in French and Child & Family Studies. I guess I like to dabble in many things.

Because of the economy in 2010, I began to coupon and shop on a budget. I started Cleverhousewife.com in 2009, as a way to help others save money. After a year and a half of posting mainly coupons and deals, I have branched out to helping others with parenting tips, recipes, fashion, crafts, diy projects, travel and more. Nearly every topic I face in my daily life (that of a work-at-home mom), is what I like to cover! I love sharing tips and tricks to make life worth living, whether it’s through time-saving tips, tips for the home and family, or how to live life to the fullest.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need help with something in particular, and I will do my best to help.

  • Hi ! I’m fairly certain the slow cook turkey bone in breast recipe uses a thawed Honeysuckle breast, righr ?. That’s in refrigerator for 2 days ???

  • In the pumpkin version of the better than … cake what size cake mix was the recipe designed for? I feel like I have been making this long enough that it would have originally been an 18.75 oz mix? (I couldn’t figure out how to comment on the actual recipe so I’m asking here.) There were a lot of comments about the cake being soggy and I remembered having that problem last fall. I’m wondering if the smaller 15.25 oz mixes we have today don’t have enough dry ingredients for the 15 oz pumpkin. I added 3 oz of flour and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder to mine this time and it seems better so far. I hope it will hold better over the next few days.
Beware, I have heard they are dropping the weight of the cake mixes again to 13.25 oz!
