Chocolate Truffle Torte

Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa
  • 10 tbsp butter
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ⅛ cup milled flax seed
  • Chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. In a medium sized sauce pan add sugar, cocoa and butter. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring continuously until butter is completely melted and mixture is the consistency of cake frosting.
  3. Remove from heat immediately and allow to cool for about 5 minutes
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, then mix in flour, salt and milled flax seed.
  5. Pour into greased pie pan or shallow, round cake pan. Sprinkle chopped nuts onto the top of the torte, and press into the batter very slightly.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes. Do not over bake as torte continues to cook after removed.
  7. Allow to cool completely at room temperate. Cut into slices and enjoy!
