Every so often I catch myself singing the Team Umizoomi theme song. It’s so catchy and the kids and I love it! Earlier this month, a new Nickelodeon dvd was released: Team Umizoomi: Umigames. We don’t currently have cable, as I know many of you don’t either, so we live by dvds. The Team Umizoomi: Umigames has nearly taken up a permanent residence in the car dvd player. I often hear the movie playing behind me while I drive, and of course – I sing along.
The new Umigames dvd is great for preschoolers because the adorable episodes and characters teach many math skills, including counting, patterns, measurement, and more! The Umigames couldn’t come at a better time, while gearing up for the 2012 Summer Olympics! Join Team Umizoomi as they compete in bicycling, swimming, basketball and soccer. Not only do you learn basic math skills, but also sportsmanship. My twins in particular, do not have the best sportsmanship. They don’t like to lose, and they can’t stand when others cheat (who can really?), but I find that having the kids watch others interact well during sports, is a great example. I just checked on pricing over at Amazon and Team Umizoomi: Umigames happens to be on sale for just $10.39 (reg. $14.98).
Be sure to also check out the Team Umizoomi games at nickjr.com. After watching the show, my kids always love to logon the computer and stay in the Team Umizoomi spirit, with the free online games. There are coloring sheets, math games and more!
I was provided with a copy of Team Umizoomi: Umigames, for review purposes. All opinions expressed are my own.
