Preheat oven to 475°.
Prepare potatoes by slicing them into thirds - just halve the smaller potatoes.
Pour potatoes into a 1.5 -2 qt casserole dish, or pan.
In a small bowl, combined butter, thyme, and salt and pepper. Pour over potatoes and lightly toss to coat.
Arrange potatoes into a single layer, in dish.
Bake for 12 minutes.
Remove dish from oven and flip potatoes over using a spatula. return to oven for another 12 minutes..
Remove dish from oven and flip potatoes one more time before adding chicken broth and minced garlic. Return to oven and cook for a final 12 minutes.
Serve while warm.
