Banana Boat Pool Party and Giveaway

Not much beats a refreshing and fun pool party on a hot day. Yesterday I got to have some of my very favorite people over to my mom’s house, for a Banana Boat Pool Party, as part of the Banana Boat® Sunscreen Natural Reflect Lotion 101 Days of Summer Play party!. I think we had over 20 people there, including adults. We picked the perfect day to spend in the pool, because the weather has started heating up here in Northern California.

As you may be able to tell from other family photos I have posted, I have 4 red-headed children, which means FAIR SKIN!! My husband isn’t too horribly fair, but I am. I do not tan well, but I most certainly burn. My kids and all have been kissed by the sun many times, with are various freckles. Everytime my boys go out in the sun, I swear they come in with more freckles than they left with. Having good sun protection is super important to me because I worry about my babies burning, and becoming so freckle-ridden that you can’t see their faces! Little Girl has just a few freckles right now, but I’m sure more are coming.

We were all set for a day of fun. They also provided me with 10 goodie bags to give out to my guests. Each bag had a bottle of Banana Boat sunscreen, 50SPF, Banana Boat coupon, as well as a frisbee. My friends were so excited for their goodie bags, and the encouragement to keep having fun in the sun, all summer long.

As part of the fun in the pool, we played a little hula hoop frisbee came. Before kids jumped off of the diving board, they had their turn to jump and throw the frisbee into a hula hoop, laying in the water. We had a boat for the smaller kids to float around in, with the help of one of the mommas. It was a seriously great time. When the kids were ready to take a break from the pool, they cooled off with some otter pops and rice krispie treats. 

Growing up I used to think that sunscreen was only important when the sun is really bright, but I have since learned that it is important to wear sunscreen many other times. Those tricky overcast days are ones where you really want to be protected. The sun can get you when you least expect it. Don’t let the heat and sun stop you from getting outside and playing with the kiddos though. What kinds of things do you do to keep protected from the sun?

    We love to swim. Just being outside is something I try to make the kids do everyday.

    We love fishing or swimming. As long as we are outside we are happy.

    My favorite thing to do would be to hang out at the beach. Too bad there isn’t one anywhere nearby.

    My favorite thing to do outside in the summer is a toss up between riding my horse at the barrel race or taking the boat out on the lake.

    Love spending time with my family…anything we do outside as long as we are together is a good time no matter what season it is ;0)

    Oh, I don’t know if I can pick just one thing.. .we love summers and being outside. We love to spend the day at the beach, we love going to the park to play and picnic, we love the zoo and sprayground. We love spending time with family in the backyard.. bbq and lawn games.

    I have many summer activities that I love but spending the day on the water with my family is my favorite.
