Healthy Food and Healthy Teeth with Plackers and Van’s Giveaway

by Emily Buys 87 Comments

Healthy Food and Healthy Teeth with Plackers and Van’s Giveaway

If there is one thing I hate doing when it comes to oral hygiene, it’s flossing! I was taught to wrap the floss around my fingers, to keep a good grip on the floss while flossing. That always seems to result in deep grooves in my fingers, where the circulation has been cut off. Then I feel like the floss gets all slimy with saliva, and I no longer want to be holding it, but I haven’t finished flossing. Maybe I am too hard of a flosser, but it’s just not so fun for me.

Then there is the whole bit of trying to get kids to floss. Oh my goodness – forget about it! I feel like it is enough of a struggle just to get the kids to brush their teeth, so I often lose the battle of flossing. Not good at all since most of the cavities I have ever gotten have been between my teeth. Okay, I admit that there have been a few too many cavities. I think some people’s teeth are just more prone to them regardless of how much you take care of them, but regardless – flossing and dental services are still super important.

I was one happy momma when I discovered Plackers. Plackers has a variety of products for adults and children, to please everyone, and every set of teeth. What I love about this way of flossing is that you can keep your hands clean and free of saliva, as you have a plastic handle to hold. No more wrapping floss around your fingers! A small strip of floss is held at the end of the handle, so you can get into hard to reach places, without having your entire hand in your mouth.

Even better is that Plackers has a fun kids’ pack of flossers. The plastic handles are in the form of dinosaurs, and they in a variety of bright colors. My daughter loves her Plackers.

When you’ve finished flossing with your Plackers, some of them such as the orthopick, have a pick at the opposite end, that you can use to go around your teeth, or get into tough places. This helps to remove food and plaque. I have a wire on the back of my teeth, and it is a thorn in my side! I would love to just rip it off, but I can’t. The pick helps get food and plaque out from behind those teeth with the wire.

In the heading, I mentioned healthy food. Have you heard of Van’s foods? Van’s products are sold in health food stores such as Whole Foods, Sprouts, Earth Fare and more. Van’s believes in living well, and their products reflect that. I tried some of the Van’s Waffles and was very impressed. I love the wide variety that their products come in. Unlike some brands that just carry Homestyle, Buttermilk and Blueberry, they have Gluten Free, Blueberry, Totally Natural, Flax, Organic, Multigrain, etc. They’ve got everything for the health conscious.

Something I haven’t tried yet, but want to are the Muffin Crowns. Don’t they look good?

One lucky Clever Housewife reader will win the Plackers & Van’s Prize Pack that is pictured at the top. The winner will receive a variety of Plackers products, for kids and adults, as well as some Van’s coupons, to try the products. The giveaway will end at 12:01am ET on 10/19. To enter, please fill out the rafflecopter below. All entries will be verified.

I received Plackers and Van’s products to facilitate my review. All opinions expressed are my own.
