As you all know, I am a huge fan of movies because I love to escape reality for a couple of hours, just to revel in the beauty of make believe. Some make believe is better than others, and Disney’s Maleficent is without a doubt one of my favorite tales of make believe. I have loved Sleeping Beauty since I was a young girl, but this unsuspecting take on the villain called Maleficent, was heartwarming and beautiful. This movie definitely worked it’s way toward the top of my list of favorite Disney films, because it worked it’s way into my heart. Even in my top 5 movies of the year. Maleficent

Angelina Jolie is mesmerizing as Maleficent, and the perfect choice in my opinion. Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) is played by the lovely Elle Fanning. I don’t want to give away any secrets, but after Aurora falls into a deep sleep, you will be surprised at what true love’s kiss awakens her. This is a story of love, revenge and growth, and it should not be missed. With the Disney Blu-ray Combo Pack, comes with spellbinding bonus features including: deleted scenes, “Building An Epic Battle,” the meticulous detail that went into creating Maleficent‘s elaborate head wraps in “Classic Couture” and more!   

Maleficent is a film that can be watched by the entire family, but be sure to let your little ones hold you tight if they find some scenes a little frightening. All will be right in the end. It is a fairy tale after all.
