Calling all cat and dog lovers. Today’s Holiday Gift Guide Review and Giveaway features two items. One for you cat lovers and one for the dog lovers. You may enter to win either one.

Since I’m not a cat person, I had to enlist the help of a friend to give the SureFlap a trial run for me. She said it worked great and installed in her existing cat door perfectly. She had just gotten her cat chipped and de-clawed when trying out the door, so he was a little traumatized from everything all at once. She anticipates it to be a great thing once he is over all of the traumatic events.

This kitty door works in harmony with your already microchipped pet. Any cat can exit the door from inside your house, but the door recognizes only the microchipped cat for reentry. It can also be programmed for multiple cats. The SureFlap prevents neighborhood cats from gaining access to your home, as well as curious raccoons. Once the SureFlap is installed into your existing hole, or a new one, you just need to pass your cat’s head/ shoulder, wherever their microchip has been placed, through the door to set the program.

When your cat wants to reenter the door from outside, the SureFlap recognizes the chip and will unlock for your beloved cat. What could be simpler? I understand nothing is worse than a strange cat getting into your home and spraying or eating your cat’s food. Raccoons are known to be sneaking about getting in through your cat’s door, and eating their food – those sneaky little guys! You can read all about the SureFlap on their website.

    I would love the smartbones for Max. I just saw another cat run over in the street, so while I’m enthralled with the technology in the sureflap my heart wishes no one would let their cats roam.
