Finish Jet-Dry Rinse Agent Review + Giveaway

by Emily Buys 10 Comments

I love the holidays and I don’t know about you, but I am ready for the dishes to stop! We have been baking, cooking and eating more than any other time of year – and that means MORE DISHES! I can usually stretch out running the dishwasher to every 2 days, but we have had to run it at least once per day lately (sometimes more).

Of course, with all of the dish washing and washing of fancy glasses and dishes, we want our dishes to come out sparkling! I was given a sample of Finish Jet-Dry Rinse Agent, to give it a whirl on my holiday dishes. To tell you the truth, I never really understood how and why one should use the added Rinse Agent. Well, now I know so I will share my knowledge with you!

Many dishwashers come with a rinse agent dispenser, and if they don’t, you can get the Jet-Dry Solid Rinse Agent which clips to the top rack of your dishwasher.  You fill up the dispenser with Jet-Dry and it will automatically get released during the rinse cycle every time your dishwasher runs. I love that you don’t have to add it every single time you run the dishwasher!

The purpose that the Jet-Dry serves is that spots and film form during the rinse cycle, but by then it is too late for the detergents to help. FINISH® JET-DRY® Rinse Agent works during the rinse cycle by “lowering the surface tension of water and causing it to sheet.” This aids in getting better rinsing results and less spots and film.

I thought I’d give this a try on our nice dishes that we’ve been using lately and my dishes definitely come out looking clean and sparkly. I’m kind of strange, but I love getting warm, clean dishes out of the dishwasher (kind of like warm, clean laundry), and even more when they sparkle! Anything that is easy and will help get my stuff more clean, I am a fan of. The Jet-Dry also aids in drying the dishes so there are not lingering drops of water on your dishes. I think it does this pretty well.

One Clever Housewife reader will get to give Finish Jet-Dry a whirl on their dishes with a free Finish Jet-Dry Product Sample. This giveaway will end on 1/8/12 at 12:01am.

I think a dishwasher uses more energy but after 40+ yrs of handwashing I LOVE my dishwasher and thankfully it is an energy efficient model!

Well since I weeded my whole Garden, washing by hand would take all the energy I have left. How did the settlers do it?
