Food of New York City

One of the highlights of my recent trip to New York City, for the War Horse red carpet premiere, was the food! I’m sure most of you, including myself, have heard of the wonderful food to be had in NYC. To experience it though, is something entirely different! I’m missing the food already.

This post will purely just be about some of the fabulous food that I got to try and see while in NYC.

What better way to start off than with a slice of New York City Pizza! I never really believed that NYC could be better than any other, but I am now convinced! The picture at the top of the post was a White Pizza that I had at the JFK airport, on my way home. This beautiful picture right here is of a Tomato, Basil & Garlic Pizza that many of us bloggers stopped for, after seeing Mary Poppins on Broadway. We used Yelp and found this 4 Star Pizza shop on 39th, in Times Square. Patzerias Perfect Pizza Inc was the perfect end to a wonderful evening. Not that the evening really ended, because then we walked down 5th Avenue and had fun taking in the beauty!

These, I did not get to taste, but they are the largest Cheesecakes I have ever seen! NY Cheesecake I’m sure would be amazing – and so beautiful!

On Sunday, we were given a free day to explore New York City. My new, dear friend, Connie from MiscFinds4U.com, and I wondered down 5th Avenue and made our way to Times Square. On our way, we stumbled upon Lindy’s, for lunch. We split a Tom Hanks, egg salad sandwich. I’m so glad we chose to split because this triple decker sandwich was a big’un. Probably the best tasting egg salad sandwich I have ever had! I hear that Lindy’s is also known for their cheesecake.

After attending the red carpet world premiere of War Horse, we went back to the hotel, Essex House, to relax our feet and enjoy some treats! We got some nachos to share and I ordered this perfect little Pecan Tart. I also tried some of the Creme Brulee, which was also tasty, but didn’t have room for. We had room service brought down to the lobby, so we could all visit.

I did miss out on Cannolis during this trip, but I had plenty when I was there in September. I don’t know how New Yorkers stay so thin with all of this great food around them!! I also wish I had taken a picture of our middle of the night room service, of Grilled Cheese and French Fries. The Grilled Cheese wasn’t the best, but the fries were pretty good.

OMG – I’m hungry for MORE of New York. That just looks so yummy (especially the pizza – there’s NOTHING in the world like NY pizza).
