I am so excited to share an exciting adventure with all of you – my favorite readers! Before I get to my big news, I want to share the really important stuff with you. Every year on Earth Day, Disneynature releases a new fantastic feature film nature documentary. These are absolutely beautiful films and this year’s is going to be spectacular. I have already been seeing trailers of “Chimpanzee” and I absolutely cannot wait to see it. “Chimpanzee” is the next Disneynature film to hit theatres everywhere on April 20, 2012.
Synopsis for “Chimpanzee”:
Disneynature takes moviegoers deep into the forests of Africa with “Chimpanzee,” a new True Life Adventure introducing an adorable baby chimp named Oscar and his entertaining approach to life in a remarkable story of family bonds and individual triumph. Oscar’s playful curiosity and zest for discovery showcase the intelligence and ingenuity of some of the most extraordinary personalities in the animal kingdom. Working together, Oscar’s chimpanzee family—including his mom and the group’s savvy leader — navigates the complex territory of the forest.
The world is a playground for little Oscar and his fellow young chimps, who’d rather make mayhem than join their parents for an afternoon nap. But when Oscar’s family is confronted by a rival band of chimps, he is left to fend for himself until a surprising ally steps in and changes his life forever. Directed by Alastair Fothergill (“African Cats” and “Earth”) and Mark Linfield (“Earth”), “Chimpanzee” swings into theaters on Earth Day 2012.
Once you see the trailer, how can you not just be completely in awe over the story?! Aside from the touching story of Oscar, the very cool thing about this film is that Disneynature is joining forces with the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) for a special “See CHIMPANZEE, Save Chimpanzees” program. For every person who sees “Chimpanzee” in theatres during opening week (April 20-26, 2012), Disneynature will make a donation to JGI through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund. This fund is in place to protect chimpanzees and their habitats, now and into the future! So be sure to see “Chimpanzees” during opening week!

Now for my exciting news – I have been so privileged to have been asked by Disney to attend the red carpet premiere of “Chimpanzee”, at Animal Kingdom, next month! I get to spend Spring Break with 19 other bloggers and our fabulous PR Rep, which is going to be a blast. We will be staying in 3 Global Resort Homes, attending the premiere, and having loads of fun with nature themed activities at the Kissimmee Convention & Visitors Bureau. Not to mention, we will be spending a day at Disney World! Such a lucky girl I am. I am very thrilled to get to be a part of this experience, and hope you will keep checking back for updates on my adventures – and more information to come about “Chimpanzee”.
