I can’t believe it has been nearly a week since I attended Disneynature‘s Chimpanzee Red Carpet Premiere! You can read my full “chimpanzee” movie review here, but be warned that there may be spoilers. If you want to read about all of the fun stuff leading up to the premiere, then keep on reading right here! Be prepared because I have included a lot of details and pictures!!
“chimpanzee” premiered on Friday the 13th at the AMC Theatre in Downtown Disney. That is not where our excitement began! 19 other bloggers, myself, and our Disney PR Rep and Global Rep started our day by taking a shuttle to Animal Kingdom. Mind you, this was my first time EVER to Florida, let alone Animal Kingdom. I was very excited! Right when you walk into Animal Kingdom, you see the Tree of Life. So of course, we had to get a group photo! Photo courtesy of Mom Start.
We immediately headed over to a very lovely breakfast that was set up for those attending the Disney Conservation Awards. Breakfast was no light feat either. We were graced with Mickey’s presence everywhere – guiding us to our plates, in our Waffles and even on our butter! I don’t think I have eaten this good of a breakfast in ages!
The Disney Conservation Awards was held in the Lion King Theatre in Animal Kingdom where we learned of Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots program for inspiring kids in nature. There were also 4 groups of kids/teens who were given grants/awards for their projects and efforts in nature. It was quite the event, which also contained a fabulous performance by the McClain Sisters. The McClain Sisters performed their song for “chimpanzee”, called “Rise”. The song is amazing, as are the McClain Sisters. It was a fabulous time already and it had just barely hit 10am!
We left Animal Kingdom only to be greeted by our bus driver, holding what we all thought was a hilarious sign! I think just about every blogger took a picture of our adorable bus driver, with sign in tow. He was a great sport. It was finally time to head to Downtown Disney for the Red Carpet! This red carpet event was a much more casual affair than the War Horse premiere I attended in December. Unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures of me on the red carpet, but here are some of the fun Disney stars that were spotted:
Rocky and Cece from Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up“.
The McClain Sisters. Some of you may know the youngest sister, China, from A.N.T. Farm!
Dr. Jane Goodall and the Directors of “chimpanzee”, and others. There were a few other Disney Channel actors as well. As you can tell, it was a FABULOUS day! If you ever get the opportunity to attend a red carpet premiere, take it! 😉 Stay tuned for my interviews with Dr. Jane Goodall, The McClain Sisters and the directors of “chimpanzee”: Alastair Fothergill & Mark Linfield.
Only one more day until “chimpanzee” hits theatres everywhere – April 20th! Be sure to see the film during opening week to help save the chimpanzees!
Disney sent me to Florida for the red carpet premiere of “Chimpanzee”. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
