I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I have been selected as a Skype Ambassador. I am so very grateful for Skype because it has is a means of communication between my husband and me and my children. My husband has one year of schooling left, to get his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, which is another whole year of living apart from our family, during the weeks. Hubby comes home on the weekends, but to go 5 full days without seeing him, every week, would be torture. We use Skype to stay connected, and so the kids can look at daddy, and tell him about their day.
Not only do we use Skype to catch up at the end of every day, and occasionally in the middle of the day, but we use Skype to share in special moments. Since my husband has been in school for the past 2 years, away from us, there have been some holidays and special occasions that we have had to spend apart. My kids have gotten in front of the webcam to open up presents, for daddy to see. When my children have received certificates in gymnastics or school, they have been able to share those with daddy, via Skype. As much as my kids and I love to get mail, and birthday cards and such, it doesn’t compare to Skyping with daddy, and to look at one another, and have him sing to me or the kids. Because children grow and change so quickly, my husband loves being able to watch their personalities and facial expressions via Skype. You can’t get that in a greeting card! Having a face-to-face chat across the web, has made a world of difference in my life, and the lives of my family.
Skype currently has a very cool promotion. You can get onto Skype’s Facebook page and send a video message to a mom in your life. This is free, so don’t pass up the opportunity! a greeting card.
Be sure you are a fan of the Skype Facebook Page, too!
“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Skype. I received Skype credits to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.”

Amazing, I would love to get my parents on skype (they are both nearing 80) but I dont think they are even capable of using TV remote controls. I will have to see if I can send them on some kind of a course!

I have never been on skype but may have to give it ago. It would be great to ‘see’ family who live out of state.

I love Skype. I wish my mom knew how to use it, so when she is in NC we could talk and she could see the kids.

You should definitely teach your mom how to use Skype because it is a fabulous way to connect, and for her to be a part of the kids lives, while away!

We love Skype…just used it while my hubby was in India for work. It worked great for overseas calls!

That’s great that you can see your loved ones while overseas!

I am admittedly still learning how to use Skype, but now that I have a webcam, I’m more inclined to try it out. I have friends in Ireland and it would be wonderful to be able to talk face to face! Thanks for sharing!

I totally need to take the time to use this more – I want to start having my little girl have nightly conversations with my dad – who lives far away! Skype is SO awesome!
