A while back, I had a facebook discussion about where my husband and I should go for our next anniversary. Many voted for a Hawaii vacation for my 10 year anniversary. What do you think? This coming November, hubby and I will have been married for 10 years! It hasn’t been the easiest 10 years, and I definitely think we should celebrate big. I have never been to Hawaii and it looks like absolute fun and relaxation.
Because I have never been, I need your help in helping me figure out what we should do if we go! This Waipouli Beach Resort looks fantastic, and even looks like a great place to take the kids. I love family vacations A LOT, but do you think we should do Hawaii with or without the kids, for our first time? This Beach Resort has water slides, waterfalls, and a cute little beach right off of a swimming pool – perfect for the kids. This resort really looks spectacular.
If I’m going to go to Hawaii, I really want to do it right. I want things such as Ocean Views (from my room), lots of beach time, good food and drinks (non-alcoholic for me) complete with hookah and hookah accessories, and of course – fun! In looking at this Waipouli Beach Resort, there is is this one picture that shows 2 acres of fantasy pool, and it looks amazing! I have been to some neat places in the past year, but nowhere quite this cool.
Okay, so sharks make me a little nervous, but I wouldn’t say I’m afraid of the ocean. I would really like to try snorkeling, for the experience. If you have ever done it, I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’m a Hawaii amateur, so I need your help and input! Let’s hear it, in the comments!

I’ve never been to Hawaii, though I hope to at some point, and think it would make a great anniversary trip! I’d probably go without the kids so you can really experience some of the fun things as a couple, since it will be your anniversary after all. 🙂

Sounds like a great place for an anniversary to me! We are thinking Hawaii for our 25th, which is still a few years away.

I have never been either but I have heard there are tons of things to do. You could check out the volcanoes!

Which island are you planning to visit? We went to Oahu and Maui on our 25th anniversary. Last year we went back to Oahu and stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village hotel on Waikiki beach. We had an oceanfront view room with a balcony. It was beautiful. There are many things to do on Oahu. Rent a car and drive to the northshore, they have the better beaches. We went to Kauai this past April and was our first time there, we stayed 3 nights at the Sheraton Kauai with an oceanfront view and 3 nights on the northshore of the island at the Western Princeville Hotel with the golf corse and ocean view off of our patio. Kauai is a beautiful island, but not as much going on as Oahu. It depends what type of things you want to do and see. Each has something for everyone. I thing just you and your husband should go for the first time, tell them it is your anniversary and you may have some special treat!

Meant to say I think just you and your husband………………..

Hubby & I have been 3 times. We went to Maui for our honeymoon & to Oahu the other 2 times, once when I was about 6 mos pregnant with our 1st child. That was our last time. Maui was beautiful & romantic. It seemed like there was more to do in Oahu. We enjoyed the Outrigger hotel in Oahu. There are several, but we used the Entertainment Book and scored a deal of $55/night. Mind you, this was in 1999, but the normal rate then was $110/night. We were a few blocks from the beach, but a nice location. For our honeymoon on Maui, we stayed in a condo. Some friends owned it along with 11 other couples (they each got a month there every year) & gave us a week for a wedding gift.
I vote for going without the kids for your anniversary. We hope to take our kids there one day…maybe even a cruise there, but not on our anniversary.

I absolutely love Hawaii we stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian village on Oahu. The ocean view was fabulous so was the beach. The whole island was so clean and lush. My son was 9 at the time and he had a blast, there is so much for them to do (especially your boys with all the military history). GO!
