Inexpensive Halloween Mantle Idea

by Emily Buys 1 Comment

As we approach October, many of us are thinking of how to decorate our houses for Halloween. I LOVE to decorate for all of the holidays, and I like to think I am improving my skills over the years. Here are some inexpensive Halloween Mantle Idea from my house, last year.

Although it can be messy, Spanish Moss is great for spookily decorating the house. Last year, the Spanish Moss was only $2.50 per bag at Walmart. One bag can go a long way too. I scattered the moss across my mantle, as a base to work from.

You can purchase skulls from most Dollar Stores, or even Walmart. If you want to get even more creative, cover the skulls with glue and glitter. I did this a couple of years ago and they looked awesome.

The next tip I have is to shop at thrift stores or garage sales. I got the cute Frankenstein tea light holders at a garage sale for a buck in total!

Lastly, is the Halloween Subway Art. You can find subway art on Pinterest and Google. Then get any old frame you might have. I loved the white shadow box that I found at GoodWill and only paid $2.99 for. Since the printable Subway Art is typically 8.5×11, I placed a sheet of 12×12 scrapbook paper behind the Subway Art.

There are so many things you can do for Halloween, for really inexpensive! No need to spend a bunch on decorations, if you don’t have it.

Very cute! I love the Subway art printables, they are so fun! Our television is right above our mantle so I feel I’m pretty limited when it comes to decorating that space.
