Affordable Renovation Options with Floor & Decor
Renovating and redecorating can be a much dreaded chore, or it can be a lot of fun. I personally love making changes to my house. I don’t always love the work, but some jobs are easier than others. I am the type of person who easily tires of the same old stuff day in and day out. I like spontaneity and changing things up. I most certainly will not be moving anytime soon (that much change is too much change), so I like to do what I can with my house, to spice things up, without spending a lot of money.
I purchased a 6-7 year old home at the beginning of the year. The house itself was in decent shape, aside from the floors, kitchen counter and walls, but everything was just very basic and standard. There are so many things I would love to do to make the home feel cozy and personal, but I’m taking it one step at a time. So far we have swapped out all of the flooring in the living areas and kitchen. I did most of the carpet and tile demolition myself!! I am quite proud to say that too! I have painted most of the walls in the house since everything had flat white paint, which was very dirty. That project is not complete, but it’ll get there. I also swapped out one of the bathroom faucets with a much nicer one. I don’t think that’s too shabby for being a “mostly” single mom of 4, in the 11 months that I’ve lived here.
I have so many more projects to complete, and affordable renovation projects are the only way I do things. The two rooms that I would love to make over the most are my kitchen and master bathroom. I am starting the planning now, and was excited to discover Floor & Decor Outlets. They claim to have the best selection in tiles, which is fantastic for my bathroom planning.
What is Your Dream Room?
While my kitchen doesn’t need new flooring, it really does need new countertops, because the standard white tiles are chipping away, and it is nearly impossible to keep the grout clean for very long. I found that Floor & Decor carries granite countertops, and that would be beautiful in my kitchen! They also carry cabinets, which I would love to replace in my kitchen and bathrooms.
For my bathroom, I would love to get some tile in there on the floor and around the shower. My dream would be to somehow add a large jetted tub in my bathroom. I am trying to reconfigure the bathroom in my head before doing that, because I really don’t want to give up my big shower. Floor & Decor has quite a variety of flooring options from porcelain, ceramic, stone, tile, wood and laminate! It looks like they have customer service representatives ready to help out in anyway, as well. I would love to surround my new tub and shower with tiles (not sure which type yet), and have some double shower head action going on. You know – where there is a shower head at each end! Perhaps some jets would be nice too. I could also go for some new faucets and granite countertops.
Floor & Decor is an affordable option for renovation, if and when you are ready to make some changes to your home! Be sure to check Floor & Home out on facebook and twitter for more info!
