It wasn’t until I became a young adult that I developed a love for avocados. I don’t think I necessarily disliked the fruit when I was a child; I just think they weren’t around as much. Perhaps it was just my household, but I really don’t recall seeing them on the counter, or having them with my meals. Now that I cook for my own family, I can’t live without them! Luckily avocados are a fruit, which helps me feel less guilty about eating them. Sometimes I feel badly about consuming the fat they contain, but I am reminded that avocados contain some of the healthiest fats out there! It is important to partake of the right kinds of fat.

I love adding avocado to my hambugers, sandwiches, tacos, eggs and much more. I love how much flavor and goodness just a couple of slices can add to many dishes. If I’m feeling a little more adventurous, or like I have more time, I will even chop some up and make a salsa or guacamole. YUM!
