by Emily Buys 1 Comment

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.”

I am very pleased to announce that I am a Boys & Girls Club (BGCA) Back-to-School Ambassador! I don’t have any ties to the Boys & Girls Club of America, other than the fact that I think it is a great organization and want to help in any way that I can. I see the power in what this club was made for, and how it can help children all over the country. BGCA is all about helping youth become responsible, caring leaders by providing opportunities to exercise their leadership skills, decision-making abilities, and planning. Youth can take part in their Education & Career programs, Character & Leadership programs, Health & Life Skills, Arts programs, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, and even specialized programs.

To help with the back-to-school time of year, BGCA has partnered with jcpenney for the “jcpenney cares round up campaign”. For the entire month of July, jcpenney shoppers had the choice to round-up their purchase to the nearest whole dollar. 100% of your round-up would go to help Boys & Girls Clubs across the country. Rounding up is easy and doesn’t take much money away from you, but for these clubs it makes all the difference in the world. If every shopper in just one day, let alone one month, did this, it would really add up!

Over the last five years, jcpenney has raised millions for more than 500 clubs around the country. Such an easy way to pay it forward and make a difference in the lives of young children.

Are you passionate about BGCA? Let’s hear all about it in the comments below….

Within the next couple of weeks I will be posting my back to school tips & tricks, and more ways you can help BGCA!

Love that idea of rounding up! Like you said, it isn’t too painful to do, and if everyone does it, WOW, that could make for a really huge donation! 🙂
