While in New York for my Food Network shoot, my husband and I experienced what I think had to have been one of the most romantic things there is to do in New York City. I was provided with complimentary passes to experience and write about my New York Dining Cruise via the Hornblower Infinity. I say this is such a romantic way to spend an evening out with a loved one because you can have three hours of peaceful bliss. Provided with some of New York City’s finest views, delicious food and an amazing atmosphere, I don’t think anyone could complain!
The Premier Manhattan Dinner Cruise includes the following:
- Three hour cruise
- Welcome drink
- Hors d’oeuvre reception hour
- Three course a la carte menu with dessert station
- House wine and mineral water served throughout evening
- Signature coffee and herbal teas
- DJ and after dinner dancing on board
Our waiter was fantastic and very friendly. He did all he could to make us feel right at home. We were always supplied with beverages (the non-alcoholic kind for us) and ample time to head to the upper decks to behold the amazing views. Unfortunately I didn’t take my nice camera with me, and lighting wasn’t the best for photos inside the yacht, but dinner tasted great. The menu is limited, but has great options that really cover the bases just fine. Our meal began with a very yummy salad with toasted almonds and goat cheese, but you could also choose from a highly recommended crab cake. Then my husband and I ordered the Filet Mignon and the Chicken, which were both equally tasty. The Potato Gratin was definitely my favorite part of the meal. The only downfall was that there wasn’t nearly enough of it, considering how tasty it was! However, if you take part in the hors d’oeuvres, then you will be just fine. We had to run to the cruise to make it on time, so we were a tad winded and very thirsty when we arrived. Luckily we had a luxurious three hours to unwind and enjoy one another’s company.
Before it turned dark I made sure to head on deck to get a panoramic shot of the NYC shoreline. Just gorgeous! I can’t decide if I like the view better at night or in daylight. What do you think?
Both views really are magnificent. There is something about seeing the luminescence of the moon shining above the nightly lit buildings.
Then of course there is the Statue of Liberty! I have been to New York 4 times in the past year and a half and this was my first time seeing the statue. I gotta tell ya – this is THE way to see it! I only wish we got some better shots! The ship brought us quite close to the statue and it was just beautiful.
After beholding the views, eating and enjoying conversation over a scrumptious meal, you can head onto the dance floor where there is a live DJ mixing up some beats. The Hornblower Dining Cruise was phenomenal and I recommend it to anyone who has a free afternoon or evening in the city. They even have a Sunday Brunch cruise that I bet is equally awesome!
