Calling all movie lovers! You all know I fall into that category. Just about every date night involves a movie, whether it be at home or in the theaters. Of course, we always have to go see the newest Disney movies when they hit the theater. If it is age appropriate then we take the youngins, otherwise it means date night for the grown-ups!
I am super excited to share a few announcements about what is happening with Walt Disney Studios. You may have heard or seen some of the buzz around, but hopefully I have a few new tidbits of info for you movie enthusiasts.
First up on the agenda is something very time sensitive, and I hope you’ll all be excited! In honor of back-to-school, MONSTERS UNIVERSITY is returning to theatres this Labor Day Weekend!! So, hit the movie for a matinee before taking in the sun at the pool, and starting your barbecues! Start the year right with extra credit, right?
Now for some news that I am personally very excited about. Walt Disney Studios is turning the popular book, “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” into a movie starring Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner!!!! Super jazzed about this as I read the book as a kid, and now I read it to my kids. The cast couldn’t be more perfect either. The movie opens in theatres everywhere on October 10th, 2014! Count me there! I will be posting movie clips and photos as we near the movie’s release date.
I have loved the Disneynature movies that come out each year, and the film they are working on for 2014 looks to be just as heartwarming and beautiful as the last. Disneynature’s BEARS invites moviegoers to see the film during opening week (April 18-24, 2014) and by doing so, Disneynature, via the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, will make a contribution to the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks. Funds will go to protecting wildlife and wild places across America’s national park system. Check out the clip to see this mama and baby bear make it in the wilderness while maintaining their strong familial bond.
Because the last Muppets movie was such a hit (I personally LOVED it), we all get to see the sequel, Muppets Most Wanted, in theaters on March 21, 2014. To start the movie off with a bang, Disney wants to see your #MovesLikeMuppets. Using Instagram Video or Vine, you can now post short videos of your family’s #MovesLikeMuppets dancing along with Scooter and the Penguins to “Moves Like Jagger” in the new teaser. Be sure to use the hashtag and Disney just may retweet your videos!
To give you and your family a bit of inspiration with your dance movies, check out the #MuppetsMostWanted teaser trailer below:
Stay tuned for my next Walt Disney Studios movie update. Which film are you most excited to see in theaters??
