Ever since I was a kid I have dreamed of what it would be like to go to the circus. Small circus acts came to my elementary school and performed for us, and it was always a treat. I saw jugglers, acrobats, dancers, professional yo-yoers (is that what they’re called?), and more. I never did get to go to the circus though, and always felt kind of badly about it. Like I was missing out on something grand, or greater than me! This is all about to change because the circus is coming to town and I get to take 3 out of 4 of my kids!
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Presents Built To Amaze!, an extraordinarily engineered circus experience custom-built for family fun where Children Of All Ages® find out what it takes to construct The Greatest Show On Earth®. I am so excited that I get to finally see what it takes to put an entire show on and I just know I will be blown away. I am always amazed when I see hard work, talent, and practice pay off with impressive performances.
Ringmaster Andre McClain takes the Ringling Bros.® reins accompanied by his horse Comanche, to lead his funny and mischievous circus supervisors to construct a fantastic design of heart-pounding and wondrous performances sure to amaze and thrill audiences. With more than 110 of the world’s best artists & athletes representing 17 countries along with 95 exotic and domestic animals assembled together, Built to Amaze! is highlighted by several unique acts this year including:
-
Nine-time international award-winning comedic animal presenting duo Alex and Irina Emelin of Russia introduce their uniquely-designed brand of magic and humor with their remarkable trained animals including poodles, ferrets, rabbits, snakes and more!
-
The Trampoline Tower Tumblers, a troupe of ten competitive aerial athletes from the Ukraine who launch themselves from trampolines to scale, repel and pass through a three-story high translucent tower
-
The popular King Charles Troupe hailing from New York City brings one-wheeled excitement to the ring with a spirited and comedic basketball competition featuring ten whirling unicyclists
As you would expect to see in a circus, there will be high-wire acrobats, daredevil stunts on The Steel Vortex, Human Cannonball, hand-balancing duos, Clown Alley, and of course the four-legged star performers including the majestic Bengal tigers presented by the charismatic “Taba” and a fun-filled Asian elephant dance party.
All ticket holders can arrive up to 90 minutes before the start of the show, to have get up close and personal with the animals during the Animal Open House. Families can also step onto the arena floor to meet circus performers and animals at the interactive All Access Pre-Show, with FREE admission to all ticket holders.
For my local following, the Built To Amaze! performances are as follows, and I hope to see you there on Friday!

We’ve been waiting to take my son when he can truly enjoy it. The next time they’re in town is two days after my due date with his baby brother 🙁
