“This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Cooking Light, Real Simple, and Sunset Magazines, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #SafewayHoliday http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.”
‘Tis the season of gift giving. I sure love this time of year, and not just because of the gifts I receive. In fact, I get way more pleasure out of surprising others with gifts they are excited to receive. I love the anticipation of watching someone I care about open up a gift that I put a lot of time and/or thought into. It’s the gifts that have some thoughtfulness behind them that seem to bode well with receivers. That’s why I turned to magazine inspired gifts! They have suggestions for every type of person.
Do ever get stuck when trying to come up with the “perfect” gift for the person who has everything? Or perhaps they don’t have everything, but they are picky beyond belief. I have a few people on my shopping list this year that I could use some inspiration for. So, I headed to Safeway and picked up the November and December issues of Sunset, Cooking Light, and Real Simple magazines. I found that these issues have some fantastic gift guides with all sorts of ideas. As an added bonus, the magazine displays had coupons for $1 off any of these magazines!
In browsing through each of the magazines, I found a few excellent ideas that I am going to use. The cool thing about these issues is that there is purchasing information right inside of the guides, in case you want to purchase the exact same items. I didn’t have the time or money to do that this week, but I did gain some great inspiration for a couple of gifts. In the December issue of Real Sample there are 50 gifts for $50 or less. I spotted an adorable children’s apron gifted with some small cooking supplies in the front pockets. I recently purchased a children’s apron so now I just need to fill the pockets with their own cooking utensils.
For a girlfriend whom I always have trouble shopping for, I decided to put together an Eat, Drink & Be Merry gift set, which was inspired by one that I spotted in the December issue of Sunset. My girlfriend is a non-drinker so instead of alcohol I chose to include a nice box of Celestial Seasonings Peppermint Herbal Tea. I picked up all of the supplies, including the cute Good Cook stoneware, while shopping at Safeway. If shopping with your Safeway store card, most of the cooking/baking supplies are an extra 15% off!
I loved the supply of gourmet soups they had on hand, so I included their Canterbury Naturals Roasted Garlic Potato Corn Chowder, as well as some yummy looking crackers. I hope my friend loves the gift set I put together, and planning it was so stress-free thanks to the many ideas I found in the magazines! This kit would also double nicely as a gift for when someone is ill, or battling the sniffles!
Throw in a holiday magazine and your gift is ready to go! I sure would love to receive a gift like this!
