‘Tis the season for having guests in and out of your home, and for traveling to see friends and family for the holidays. There is so much travel that goes on at this time of year, to bring loved ones together. For that reason, Hampton has partnered with entertaining expert, Jenny Steffens Hobick, to celebrate those special moments by providing “Hamptonality” to travelers this holiday season. Whether you are staying with friends and family or at the local Hampton hotel, help is on the way! Maybe you are like me and you are staying home and the guests are coming to you! Whatever your situation may be, Hampton wants to help you to create those lasting moments and holiday merriment!
With all of the blessings and fun that come with the holidays and spending time with those we love, there is also the dilemma of sleeping arrangements and personal space. Then there is deciding whose traditions you will honor, and the list goes on. Not to fear because Hampton hotels offer comfortable surroundings and a friendly service culture, defined as “Hamptonality.” They are spreading cheer this year by sharing some of that Hamptonality with all of us with these hospitality tips. Be sure to read to the bottom because one lucky Clever Housewife reader will get to experience Hamptonality first-hand with this awesome giveaway I’m hosting! I recommend following Hampton on Instagram to see how they are using their Hamptonality to serve others.
The 5 Tenets of Hamptonality are:
· Unexpected delight
· Being anticipatory
· Sharing a compliment
· Providing a moment of humor
· Showing empathy
Uh, I think I’d like to check in RIGHT NOW! I could use a bit of these 5 tenets and I don’t even have house guests – well, except for the 4 little critters who call this place home.
Now for a little help with those hospitality tips:
Tip 1: Be the best OFF-SITE host ever: If you simply don’t have enough room to host all of your holiday guests or you just think everyone would be happier with their own, comfortable space, consider booking them at your local Hampton. With more than 1,900 locations, Hampton is the perfect place to stay no matter where your guests may be traveling from.
Tip 2: Surprise your guests with welcome treats
Tip 3: Be prepared with lots of snacks
Tip 4: Post the plan – IE: schedule/itinerary
Tip 5: Make time for exercise and fresh air
Tip 6: Make time for resting
Tip 7: Plan a daily ritual
Tip 8: Plan one special night for the adults
Tip 9: Big breakfasts – sign me up for that!
Tip 10: Stock up on extras when it comes to toiletries and personal items
Tip 11: Make your home “help yourself” friendly
Tip 12: Plan fun games
Tip 13: Celebrate past holidays
Tip 14: Make your guests do some work – be careful with this one! I wouldn’t have them cleaning out the gutters or anything, but make them feel useful by asking them to help with small tasks you know they’ll enjoy! It can be a win-win for everyone!
Tip15: Prepare! Do as much preparation in advance as you can. Plan menus around recipes that can be made ahead of time -freezer-friendly, one-dish meals like lasagna, or a hearty-braised beef stew are great options when serving a crowd. Run a supermarket sweep a few days before for toiletries. Do your own laundry before guests arrive, so that the washer and dryer can be available for them, if necessary. The ultimate holiday hosts know that being prepared is the absolute best way to make your guests feel welcome in your home because you can actually enjoy them while they are there!

I have been looking for MONTHS for an affordable weekend (or more!) away since my dad passed last year and I have been doing everything I can to take care of my mother these last 15 months. Tomorrow is my 50th birthday and I’m just feeling so exhausted I’m not even excited about my birthday
