Nothing says Girls Getaway like a few nights in beautiful Sonoma. And there was no better way to get there than in the beautiful 2014 Toyota Sienna! My oldest sister turned 40 the first part of November and I celebrated my 30th at the end of November. Middle sister decided to surprise both of us by flying in from New Mexico for a mid-month birthday celebration. We only had a few days to pull together the perfect Girl’s Getaway and fortunately, I had the Sienna to take us there.
I contacted a rep in Sonoma and she planned out all the details of our few days of girl time. Mom was included in the trip and we had the BEST time. We ate at lovely restaurants, stayed at a beautiful Inn, took in a cooking class with a French Chef at Ramekins, toured the lovely Wineries and a Gourmet Cheese shop of Sonoma and capped off the trip with a Hot Air Balloon ride.
All of the fun was made even more pleasurable by travel in the comfy Toyota Sienna. We picked my sister up at the airport, plugged in our destination in the perfect Toyota Sienna navigation system, turned on our heated seats and let the Sienna take us to Sonoma. Our trip was so comfortable, cozy and full of great conversation with mom and her 3 girls. Since none of us had ever been to Sonoma, the navigation worked perfectly to get us right to our hotel, then to the restaurant that evening. Next day we plugged in all of our stops for touring, eating and shopping and let the navigation do all the work.
There was plenty of room for all our gear, and added shopping bags from the cute boutiques we visited. As the driver, I loved being able to push any one of the many buttons overhead, to open doors for the ladies, or to open the rear hatch for our luggage and/or shopping bags! In fact, I find it fun to surprise people as they walk up to the car, ready to pull the handle, to discover that the door is opening on it’s own. I never knew a comfortable car could add so much to a road trip.
On our last day we had an early morning trip from Sonoma to Napa Valley to meet our Hot Air Balloon. Again, the navi system got us there without a hitch. The morning was chilly, but our heated seats in the Sienna kept us warm and cozy.
What a memorable birthday it was. Thanks, Sis, for the surprise visit, and thanks Shelby (my pet name for the fab Toyota Sienna) for getting us there in style and comfort.
