On a recent girls’ weekend I was invited to dine at Basque Boulangerie Cafe, as part of a review experience. All opinions expressed are my own.
As part of our birthday girls’ weekend getaway this past Fall, we had a lovely breakfast at the Basque Boulangerie Cafe in Sonoma, CA. The boulangerie was so busy that morning, and due to limited Cafe style seating, we enjoyed our breakfast at one of their outdoor tables. Luckily the weather was nice and sunny, and not too cold for November, so it was lovely. The location is great and faces the city square and green grass, so outdoor dining really was ideal.
The bakery cases were filled with a large assortment of delectable treats, making it difficult to choose what to order. We opted for a variety to share so we could “try it all”. We also ordered a few things off of the menu, including savory crepes with eggs and ham, and extra fresh fruit – to balance out the baked goods. Everything was super tasty, but I think everyone’s favorite was the bread pudding. Made with their own freshly baked bread, it was truly divine.
Their coffee bar was also pretty busy, but since we don’t drink coffee we opted for their hot chocolate with whipped cream. Yum! The staff at Basque Boulangerie Cafe was great and even gave us a loaf of some of their best bread, to be enjoyed later that day.
The Basque Boulangerie made for an excellent, and tasty, start to our busy day of sight-seeing in beautiful Sonoma. Definitely worth a stop, even if you’re just passing through and need a little treat.
