Read how I thrilled the kids in my music and movement class by surprising them with two playful pups from “The Happy’s” Collection by Cepia which I received for review.
This month in the preschool music and movement classes that I teach, we have been learning about “Surprising Spring”. To finish up the month I wanted to spend a fun day learning about baby springtime animals. We had so much fun dancing and singing our way to learning about lambs, chicks and calves.
However, the real excitement happened when I brought out “Sport” and “Bentley”, two adorable puppies from “The Happy’s” Collection by Cepia. The Happy’s are the newest animal friends made by the creators of ZhuZhu Pets. They are motorized puppies and kittens that run, play, and do tricks just like a real pet. They can even chase their very own “Chase and Play” balls.
To introduce Sport and Bentley to the preschoolers in my class, I had them sit in a circle with instruments and sing Sport and Bentley’s favorite song “B-I-N-G-O”! As we sang I passed around the puppies and let the kids give them a cuddle and pet their soft fur. The kids ooohed and aaaahed over the puppies and gave them lots of hugs and cuddles. Then during the last verse, I told the kids that if they sang really loud, something magical would happen!
As they finished up the song I pressed a button on the back of the puppies, to make them come to life! The kids where so surprised and excited and laughed and laughed as Sport and Bentley wagged their tails and moved around the room! I let the kids spend some time running and chasing after the puppies, while I discreetly pressed the buttons on the dog bones that make the dogs do tricks, making them even more magical for the kids! After a while we decided to race the puppies, which was so funny because just like real puppies, Sport and Bentley would get distracted and get off-course mid-race! The kids thought this was so funny, and wanted to keep doing it over and over again!
As our class was coming close to being done, it was time to say goodbye to Sport and Bentley. All of the kids where a bit sad to put them away, and all wanted to give them one last kiss and hug! One little girl kept saying “I love you Sport and Bentley” and made me promise that I would bring them back next week!
It was so much fun to see them really love our lesson on baby animals and be able to learn in such an interactive way! I strongly believe that when preschoolers learn through hands-on activities and explorations that they are building a curiosity and love for learning that will last lifetime! This week, that kind of experience happened with “The Happy’s” and that makes me happy!
If you want to invite one of “The Happy’s” to your home or classroom, they are available at stores nationwide, retailing for 29.99 or can be found Amazon.
