“I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central for TCF Bank. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating. Learn how you can improve on money management after you take a financial literacy quiz to discover your financial animal.”
Over the last year or so, Leanne has been writing some articles for Cleverhousewife.com, regarding financial literacy. I think her articles have gotten many of us thinking about our finances, and how we can improve our own literacy, as well as our circumstances. April happens to be National Financial Literacy Month, so I figured I’d bring up the topic again, but in a fun way! TCF Bank, a Minnesota-based, national bank, wants you to consider your financial habits by likening you to an animal.
First off, I want you to take a moment to think about what animal you would compare yourself to. Now go take the Financial Literacy quiz to discover your financial animal! I just took the quiz and find it kind of funny. TCF Bank’s quiz likens me unto a coyote. I was a little shocked at first, but as I read the comments it appears many are considered to be coyotes when it comes to their finances. Hey, if I’m considered a craft scavenger by description then I am okay with that. Care to share what animal you got, in the comments below? Do you think the description suits you?
I have actually been thinking about my finances and my future a lot lately. I have always overseen my finances, and done quite well if I might add. However, I decided to be more proactive about thinking about my future, since my husband moved out. I believe knowledge is power, and understanding your own finances can empower you to be proactive about your own future.
If you are feeling a little bit at a loss of where to begin, you might find the TCF Bank Financial Literacy Resource Center to be useful. They aim to equip you with practical and impartial information about money management – a skill many of use could stand to improve. One thing I noticed is that they take into consideration that everyone learns differently, which is why they have set up a variety of ways to learn money management, including video, animations, gaming and social networking. Be sure to check it out!
