This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of MetLife Foundation. All opinions are 100% mine.
I’d like to begin this post by wishing all of you mothers a very Happy Mother’s Day! Perhaps you aren’t a mother by the traditional sense of the word, but you have a way of mothering those who come into your life. Happy Mother’s Day to you too!
Every year, as we near Mother’s Day, I have a few different emotions that come over me. The first is the love and gratitude I have for my own mom. I question how I should honor her on this day. What gift should I give? What important note should I write her in a card? There are not enough words in the world to express the love and appreciation I have for my mom. She gave me life and she continues to do all she can to make my life the most fulfilling and the most happy. Her love is unconditional and always there, even when I feel others have abandoned me. She is a constant in my life, and for that I am so very grateful.
I often feel that I can not adequately express my feelings to those I love. If you are the same way, or you just want to participate in a fun little thing on this Mother’s Day, to show your mom you care, I want to teach you how to create a #Moem. First of all, a “#Moem” is a tribute poem written and posted on social channels, preferably rhyming, in 135 characters or less. If you are the creative type then feel free to create your #Moem on your own, but if you need a little guided inspiration, then check out the Moem Maker by Metlife.
Not only will your #Moem show mom how you feel, but for every #Moem posted, Metlife will be donating $10 to Dress for Success. As a single mother myself, I can say how valuable a charity such as Dress for Success can be for a struggling family. This program and all funds donated go toward helping low-income women achieve economic independence for themselves and their families. Your #Moem can help your mother and other mothers around the world! The donations go through midnight on Mother’s Day only, so be sure to create yours and spread the word. Mom will be proud!
Using the Moem Maker, here is my #Moem for my mom:
