To kick off summer and allow my kids (and myself) to have some extra time with friends before our move, I hosted an Outdoor Oasis party at my mom’s house. She has a lovely yard, complete with pool and enough grassy area for a bounce house. There were about 28 guests in attendance and everyone had a blast! Some may wonder how I was able to pull off planning and prepping for a party in the middle of a move, so I thought I’d tell you how.
In my opinion, there’s nothing better than showing up for a party where someone has given thought and theme to the Partay. It says “I care about my friends, come in, enjoy and have a good time!” Am I right? Sure, you can have fun regardless, but setting the atmosphere just seems to make things feel extra special. You can turn any little spot into a virtual Oasis – a special haven for special guests. A place to refresh and renew from the world. Pier 1 Imports is one of my favorite stores for home decor (indoor and outdoor), and it is with their summer stock, you can’t go wrong for any party planning.
Walking into Pier 1 Imports just says – invite me to your home. With so many choices, it was hard to decide what to get with my budget. Luckily there were plenty of things to choose from with the theme of Backyard Oasis, and some good deals as well. The splashes of color in the cloth napkins and hanging lanterns were so inviting and truly helped set off simple refreshments – that had guests coming back for more. I love the flower shaped basket I picked up and stored the hotdog buns in. So simple, yet adorable! Some of the chairs and swings I spotted at Pier 1 Imports are on my list of items to go back and snag, to add to my decor.
I received many compliments on the decor and the food. One of the hot topics of the food table was the Cranberry Pineapple Punch with Sherbet. You’ve got to check it out because you will want to make it again and again this summer!
