Tips for throwing the perfect Ladybug Party with themed supplies from Birthday Express. I’m sharing party tips, games and favors.
Do you panic over Birthday Parties for your children? I sure can! I can throw an adult party without giving it much thought, but when it comes to a party for children, I go into panic mode. I love doing it, but planning to make it perfect and go off without a hitch is a bit stressful. My panic-ometer was off the charts for my little gal’s 5th birthday this year. Not only was I new to single parenting, but I was getting ready for a move – YIKES! I knew I needed some expert help.
BirthdayExpress.com to the rescue. I knew I wanted to have the party at home (my mom gladly offered hers, since mine was stacked with moving boxes), rather than go to a party type venue. I knew I wanted the party to be heavily themed so Birthday Express was PERFECT. A party in a box was delivered to my door which included everything I could possibly need, aside from food and guests! They were absolutely great to work with too!
Birthday Express has a theme for everyone. You name it, they’ve got it.
My little gal has a multitude of nicknames – one of which is “Bug, or Ladybug.” I let her look at the Birthday Express website and choose her theme all by herself. I was totally surprised she didn’t go with a Princess theme, but I was relieved, since I knew there would be a couple of little boys at the party. She chose the LadyBug party. It was absolutely precious, and everything coordinated so well. It came with invitations, serveware, decorations, favors and containers for favors, even thank-you notes for after the party. I added on an adorable LadyBug Pinata, a personalized vinyl Happy Birthday banner I can reuse from year to year and some ladybug antennas for the birthday girl to wear. She wore a pair of red shorts and a black t-shirt to complement the black and red theme.
When the children arrived, they were awed and enchanted by the decorations and knew right away the party was intended for their enjoyment. Each child seemed pleased to take home their cute little black and red polka dot favor box which include a precious plush Ladybug.
We played a few buggy games, did a ladybug toss into a garden themed vinyl hang-up I borrowed from Leanne, and dug for ladybug buttons in the raised sandbox table.
We served mini corndogs, chips, LadyBug juice, and of course LadyBug cake pops! I knew my little LadyBug was pleased and felt very special on her special day.
Nothing could have been easier than to select my theme, and order away. A party in a box is the way to go for a stress free party.
A few suggestions for a worry-free party are:
- keep it short
- keep your guest list to 10 or less for under 8 year olds
- have kid friendly foods
- move quickly from one uncomplicated activity to another
- give them time to eat, if you’re including food
- take a break with an activity before you serve birthday cake
- have clean-up wipes and hand sanitizer on hand
- make sure the guests are greeted and have a favor to take home
- when opening gifts, have the gift giver pose for a photo with the guest of honor when opening their gift.
And most importantly – use Birthday Express for a stress free party.
