Holiday Gift Guide Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition
If you have been anywhere near my home during the past few weeks, you already know that “Guess what! Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition is now available of DVD and Blu-Ray.” (That’s a direct quote from my 3 year old little girl). She runs up and randomly reminds of this fact at least 3 times a day. She is just a tad excited about it, and I have to admit, I am too!

As a lover of all things Disney, I get so excited when a classic Disney movie gets re-released for a new generation to love and enjoy. Sleeping beauty, Disney’s 16th animated film, tells the classic tale Princess Aurora who is cursed by the evil fairy, Maleficent. She falls into a deep sleep and is protected by 3 good fairies until she is saved by “true love’s kiss.” In this special “Diamond Edition” Sleeping Beauty has been digitally restored awakening the artistry of this classic film and bringing it to life for today’s families to enjoy. It also contains 4 deleted songs and 3 never-before viewed scenes including “the fair” (with a deleted character) and “the arrival of Maleficent” which are sure to add some new twists to enjoy!

2014 Holiday Gift Guide: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition

Gift Guide Ratings:
Poor (or Budget for it), Average, Good, Excellent

Availability: Excellent- awakens on Blu-rayâ„¢, DVD, Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on Oct. 7

Price: Average- Good:
The “DVD only” set costs $29.99 (which I think is average for for Disney DVDs). However the 2-Disc Blu-Ray + DVD Superset with Digital Copy costs $36.99 which I thought was a good deal for all that is included.

Durability: Excellent– Because this is a classic Disney movie, it has already stood the test of time, letting you know that it’s a film that your family can treasure and enjoy for years to come!

Educational Features: Good– This disc comes packed full of additional features that will capture the imagination of anyone interested in learning more about animation and behind-the-scenes Disney Magic. This includes a short film “Once Upon a Parade” telling the behind the scenes story of the New Festival of Fantasy Parade.

Interactive Features: Average– While there are not a lot of interactive features on the DVD, there is one feature that lets you sing a long karaoke style to the song “Once Upon a Dream” from the movie.

Value For Money- Good: I always find that Classic Disney Movies are worth the cost, as they become beloved family treasures. Plus with all of the additional bonus features, and the option to have a digital copy, I think this is a really good value.

Who I would buy it for: Anyone who loves Disney and the Classic Disney films! I also think this would make a great gift or stocking stuff for the little princess in your life, or could be paired with some candy and popcorn to make a fun gift for an entire family.
