Truth Time: I am terrible at frosting cakes and cookies. I always have big plans to make them look beautiful, and it just doesn’t work out!
However, I always look forward to Halloween time because I get to use the one and only trick I have for amazing looking cakes and sugar cookies… My trick for Spiderweb frosting ! Check out this step-by-step tutorial and make your cupcakes or cookies the envy of the Cake Walk booth this fall!
Step 1: Ice your round cake, cupcake or sugar cookie with regular white canned frosting.
Step 2: Use black frosting with a tip to make a large dot of icing in the center of the circle
Step 3: Make a circular-ish (doesn’t need to be perfect) ring about 2/3 of the way to the edge of the circle
Step 4: Using a toothpick draw a line in the frosting starting at the center dot and moving to the very edge of the circle
Step 5: Repeat all of the way around the circle (note: wipe off your toothpick between each line)
Step 6: Add a spider ring for decoration, over the center dot.
