There are places on earth that offer the perfect setting for relaxation and renewal, as well as celebration and even learning. When you find that perfect place it’s not only exhilarating, but restorative. Holman Ranch, nestled in tranquil Carmel Valley of central California is just such a place. My husband and I were treated to a lovely stay. Here you can escape the busy routine of life, sit back, relax, enjoy the sunshine, pristine air and peaceful sounds of nature. All around are gorgeous views of the splendor California has to offer – rolling hills, vineyards, beautiful landscape, wildflowers, olive groves, and local flora and fauna. And only a short 10-15 minute drive you’re in the quaint city of Carmel with the ocean beckoning at your door.
We spent a too short night and day at the Holman Ranch – a vineyard, winery and olive groves with lush grounds, historical stone hacienda, stables and 10 well appointed cottage type rooms. The Ranch is rustic, yet sophisticated, secluded, yet near so many amazing things to see and do. The Holman Ranch boasts their own wine label, but more than that, they specialize in multi-day retreats, events and wedding venues. The young couple that runs the Ranch for their family are educated in hospitality and event planning and seem to have the distinct ability to cover every need for your special event, be it a corporate retreat, team building, family reunion or the perfect setting for your country wedding. They are there to help you plan an all inclusive specialized ranch event, or you can go ala carte and customize your event with your specific goals in mind. One thing for sure, the setting of the Ranch has everything you could possibly imagine, along with amazing vistas from every angle.
We were treated to a beautifully catered dinner in the carriage house (thanks to Wild Thyme in Marina) – with the barn doors wide open, plentiful fresh air and peaceful sounds of nature. The stars were amazing! There’s also the old hacienda on the grounds which offers a gorgeously appointed great-room with stone fireplace and baby grand piano. The hacienda also has a board room for those all important meetings, or for formal dining and even serves as the brides-room for wedding prep. There’s even a quaint hacienda chapel in the main building – all decorated suitable to the setting. The courtyard is the perfect place for a small gathering or reception and is adjacent to the game/media room which also has an adjacent kitchen to cater your event. We enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast in the game room the next morning, while some of the guests enjoyed Zumba in the carriage house. There is a beautiful swimming pool and fully equipped exercise room in the pool house. Or you can enjoy bocce ball on the greens and horse shoes at the arbor covered horseshoe pit. Every one of these amenities is surrounded by immaculate grounds, vineyards, and rolling hills.
Holman Ranch is definitely the ultimate private ranch experience.
The main hacienda was built in 1928 and has been restored to it’s grandeur. The guest rooms, built in 1940’s, were recently remodeled and offer luxury and modern amenities. Holman Ranch has a history of hosting many dignitaries and celebrities, surrounded by Early California and Western inspired art. If wine is your thing, then Holman Ranch has everything to offer from their own label. You can visit their website and learn more about their wine offerings, or visit their tasting room in the quaint village of Carmel Valley.
Whether it be a retreat, corporate event and meetings, a special family event or celebration, Holman Ranch offers a peaceful, serene setting and can accommodate your specific needs.
After we left the ranch, we took a drive along the beautiful and famed 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach, had lunch at a picnic spot and watched the power and grandeur of the sea. It was a perfect day! We event stopped at Pebble Beach golf course and snapped a shot of this guy and his harem of does. It was magical!
Holman Ranch offers something for everyone while ensuring your event is the experience you hoped for, and meets your personal or professional goals.
