In one form or another, gaming has always been a part of my kids’ lives. However, I believe all things should be in moderation, so I do monitor everyone’s time on electronics. I do think dexterity and concentration, among other things, can be learned from game playing. My kiddos go through phases where one game or another is their favorite to play. For quite some time now, Minecraft has been a constant love for my boys, which is why I was excited to learn about the new Gameband for Minecraft. This isn’t one of those games that you can beat in 3 days; There are always new things to build, and activities to complete.
I don’t quite get how the game works, but I hear all about it on numerous occasions. I had to keep hearing the explanation of what a villager is, when my twin boys asked to be villagers for Halloween. I opted for a pre-made Enderman head instead. Aside from playing Minecraft, my boys love to spend time on Youtube, watching Minecraft videos. I’m not sure I get the thrill of it, but essentially they are watching others play Minecraft!
I just learned about a brand new Minecraft product to hit the market, and knew I had to get it. The Gameband for Minecraft is the first-ever Minecraft wearable. The Gameband for Minecraft has the ability to let users save their worlds and back them up onto secure, cloud-based servers. The best part is that with the Gameband, users can take their Worlds with them and play their Minecraft worlds on anyone’s computer. This is great for people who go to friends’ houses to play. Two of my kids’ favorite features of the Gameband is that it can be customized with messages, images and animations, using the PixelFurnace app that comes with it. It’s just some added fun for the kids, and they can share their creations on the PixelFurnace site.
The Gameband works with the PC version of the game, so keep that in mind when doing your shopping. My kids tell me the PC version is THE BEST version, so it might be worth upgrading to if you don’t have it already. The second feature my kids really like about the Gameband is that it comes pre-loaded with cool maps from Sethbling, Hypixel and Dragonz. As you can see, the band is basically a cool and stylish way to to wear a USB!
If you’ve got Minecraft fans in your life (whether they be of the adult or kid variety), the Gameband for Minecraft is a must-have item for the holidays, or anytime of year really. The bands come in a size for kids or adults. Supplies are somewhat limited and can be picked up at most GameStop stores, so be sure to head in and get your holiday shopping done early. While you’re in stores, check out the other fun gadgets and gaming accessories they have.
Gameband belongs to Now Computing and is affiliated with Minecraft. If anyone has any feedback regarding Gameband, you can reach out to Now Computing.

My kids absolutely agree that the PC version is the best of them. They get so frustrated when any other platform doesn’t update as quickly or include the same features. I love that you can save your Worlds and not worry about them disappearing – or not being able to access them when you’re on someone else’s computer. Brilliant! #client
