Proactiv Plus Review

“I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence-Central for Proacitv+. I received samples of Proactiv+ to facilitate my review and a thank you item for participating.”

I was warned by friends and family that hitting 30 would create changes in my body, and in my skin. I was hoping it wouldn’t happen for me. I am now 31 and I can say that my friends and family were right. In some ways, I feel like I’m going through puberty all over again. Hormone levels are different, and my face has reverted back to teenage breakouts. The breakouts haven’t been as bad as when I was a teen, but bothersome enough. Having a pimple pop out before a date is not ideal, and messes with my self confidence. I had to do something to boost my confidence, so I will share my Proactiv Plus review with you!

We’ve all seen the commercials with celebrities promoting Proactiv, so I was excited when I was approached to try the Proactiv Plus line. The Proactiv Plus system provides enhanced hydration, skin smoothing and mark
reduction as well as an overall improvement in texture, tone, pore appearance and brightness in one elegant system. The three step process is to be completed twice daily, and I can tell you it has really improved the quality of my skin. As with many acne products, there can be a phase of dry skin and initial breakouts that might be worse, but the results are worth it. In my mind, it makes sense that the products used are first going to dry out the skin and work on shrinking pores. Pimples are brought to the surface and the skin is eventually cleared up.

The three steps in the core system of Proactiv+ include:

o Step 1- Skin Smoothing Exfoliator
o Step 2- Pore Targeting Treatment
o Step 3- Complexion perfecting Hydrator

The hydrator is absolutely necessary for keeping the skin from drying out, and I love how soft and smooth my skin felt after a couple of weeks of usage. One of my favorite products that came in my package is the Skin Purifying Mask. If a blemish does pop out, I apply a little dab before bedtime, let it sit and rinse in the morning. My blemishes shrink considerably and I just love it! Because of the stronger chemicals in the mask, they recommend only using up to two times per week, but I really haven’t felt the need to use it more than that.

Overall my skin feels better and I feel more confident. I am still having some breakouts, but I think I just need to give the products a little more time. The breakouts aren’t to where my face is covered in pimples, it is typically just one that I have to battle.

Have you ever used Proactiv? Thoughts?

  • I have not tried Proactiv, but was thinking about trying it. I would love to see some more people respond with their expierences. My skin is not real oily, so I am worried it will dry it out too much.
