Carmel by the Sea

Keith and I had the perfect wedding, which we planned in just a week! We had amazing help from family and it went off without a hitch. I’d say our honeymoon getaway was perfect as well. With little time to plan and prepare, and not a lot of time to get away, we decided on a trip to Carmel by the Sea. As I have mentioned in past travel stories, Carmel is one of my favorite quick getaway destinations. We can get there in about 3 hours, and we were lucky enough to nab reservations for our honeymoon stay at Hofsas House. I don’t think we could have asked for a better way to spend a couple of days following our wedding.

Hofsas House Deluxe King Room

Hofsas House Hotel is one of my favorite destinations in the Monterey area. The owners are super friendly, and it is within walking distance to just about everything great Carmel has to offer. This was the first time I got to stay at Hofsas House without my kiddos, and boy was it a treat! I sure love my kiddos, but Keith and I were treated to a deluxe king room with fireplace and an ocean view. My oh my, it was excellent!

Hofsas House View

As always, we were greeted with yummy local cheese and crackers, as well as a chilled bottle of sparkling cider. Hofsas House offers a variety of packages to choose from, depending on what you may be celebrating while in Carmel. Choose from the following:

  • Hofsas Keepsake Package – $50
  • Romantic Evening – $75
  • Birthday Celebration – $105
  • Anniversary Celebration – $105
  • In-Room Massage – $80 (Next time I need to try this!)
  • Golf Stay & Play – $100

With the Deluxe King room we had the option to do all of our eating and dining in our room, since there was a small kitchen included. We opted to dine out (posts to come later), but we certainly enjoyed time snuggled by the fire too. I love the dutch doors the open up to let in the sea breeze, and stunning sunsets. Breakfast is also a treat, with local pastries. I let Keith head down to the lobby to pick up a basket of assorted pastries, which he brought up to our room to enjoy.

We walked to dinner, drove to the beach for a picnic lunch, and all-in-all had a fantastic time. The property is always nice and quiet for such romantic getaways!
