The Boxtrolls DVD and Pop Secret

I have come to cherish and appreciate family movie nights. Now that my kids are gone every other weekend, to their dad’s house, it seems like we can’t ever get enough quality time together. Tonight I asked their dad to bring them back a little early so we could hunker down in the family room, with blankets and popcorn, and The Boxtrolls. As I sat on the couch between one of the twins and my sweet hubby, I looked around the room at my babies, and felt so much love in my heart. I feel like one lucky lady!

To prepare for the kids’ homecoming, Keith (the hubs) and I prepared a delicious batch of Hot Chocolate Popcorn. While I was at Walmart picking up The Boxtrolls DVD/Blu-ray Combo pack, I picked up a 10-pack of Pop Secret Home-Style Popcorn so I could do some experimenting. There will be more recipes to come later, but for now, this Hot Chocolate Popcorn is pretty incredible. It does use hot chocolate powder, so be prepared for a little bit of mess. If snacking isn’t messy, then you must not be doing something right!

Movie Watching Box

For added fun The Boxtrolls theme into our movie watching atmosphere. I happened to get a large box delivered to my house this morning, so I got a little creative. I lined the box with pillows, covered it with a large blanket, and turned it over to the kids for a movie watching box! They added some more pillows and blankets, and a bowl of popcorn, and they were in heaven. It worked perfectly, and the two who shared the movie watching box didn’t hop out once during the entire movie. Finally – a way to keep the kids contained while watching movies at home!!!

Can I just reiterate how much I love family movie night? So peaceful and relaxing, good treats to be had, and I get to snuggle with my loves! To help you plan a fun family movie night, head to Walmart to pick up The Boxtrolls DVD and either Pop Secret 10ct Movie Theatre Butter Popcorn or Pop Secret 10ct Home-Style Popcorn (while supplies last).

Pop two bags of Pop Secret popcorn. For a fun little trick to separate the unpopped kernels from the popped ones, only open the top of the bag a teeny bit. Shake the bag upside down over a small bowl, until you feel you have gotten most of the unpopped kernels out. Then shake some more. 😉

Pour popcorn into a large bowl, and melt white chocolate chips according to package.
