I live in a small-ish town, which means we are lacking in restaurants. No shortage of fast food here, but tasty restaurants are in short supply. So when I go out of town, I like to hit up the good spots for a yummy bite. When TGI Fridays asked me to test out their Mother’s Week promotions and share the details with all of you, I jumped at the opportunity. After a full day at Universal Studios this Tuesday, we were in need of a relaxing meal, so we stopped by the TGI Fridays in Orlando.
I am not a wine drinker so I didn’t take advantage of the half-priced bottles of wine, but we did partake in some shareable appetizers. Instead of celebrating Moms on just one day, TGI Fridays decided to have a full Mother’s Week. From May 4th to May 10th, moms can stop in for a fun girl’s night out, or some family time, with half-priced bottles of wine and their great new shareable appetizers such as Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jalapenos, Jack Sliders and Sweet Heat Cider Wings. Plus, if you purchase a $50 gift card for Mom, you can get a $10 gift card for yourself.
We took the kids in and played a quick round of Heads Up! while we waited for our food, which is always fun and makes the waiting more bearable for the kids. However, the food came out super fast, and all tasted superb. We started off with a shareable appetizer of pot stickers, pretzels with beer cheese dip and some boneless wings. YUM! I could have stopped with the appetizers, but then I would have missed out on the absolutely delicious (and tender) ribs and mac & cheese. I only wish the mac & cheese they have for side dishes, was the same as the kids’ meals. Tons of cheddar and buttery bread crumbs on top. Mm Mm!
Okay, we pretty much went into a food coma after dinner. That didn’t stop us from enjoying the Whiskey Tennessee Cake and the kids with their cup of dirt (pudding and worms) and sundaes.
If your Mother’s Day plans are already hatching, then stop in anytime before the 10th to take advantage of the promotions, and some yum.
