At a restaurant in Monterey this past week, I was reminded how much I love homemade whipped cream. It is so simple to make that it is a wonder more people don’t do it. The flavor and texture are mouthwatering alone, but the cool thing is you can play with it by creating different flavored whipped cream recipes. I’m going to show you three easy whipped cream flavors, with the help of some Hershey’s Syrup. We’re making #SundaySundaes even better!
I personally think whipped cream goes with so many dishes. Breakfast, dessert, what’s the difference? Fruit, pancakes, puddings and pies, all are complimented well with homemade whipped cream. Today I was cooking up a batch of Liege Belgian waffles, and I thought it would be great fun to have a waffle bar. I set out syrup, strawberries and 3 flavored whipped cream toppings, and a jar of Fleur de Sel salt for my carmel topping. Mmmm!
All you absolutely need to make whipped cream is a pint of heavy whipping cream. Beat on high until soft peaks form. To sweeten (my recommendation), you can add just about any sweetener you’d like: powdered sugar, maple syrup, honey, stevia, etc. For traditional whipped cream, add powdered sugar and vanilla, but we are taking things up a notch today, with Hershey’s Syrup.
To your whipped heavy whipping cream, add 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and 3-5 teaspoons of Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup. Beat until combined. There you have it – Chocolate Whipped Cream! Now if you want to create three flavors at once, like I did, then here is what you’ll do. Beat whipping cream until soft peaks form, and add in powdered sugar. Divide whipped cream into three bowls. To the first bowl, stir (or beat) in 2-3 teaspoons of Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup. To the second bowl, stir (or beat) in 2-3 teaspoons of Hershey’s Strawberry Syrup. To the third and final bowl, stir (or beat) in 2-3 teaspoons of Hershey’s Caramel Syrup.
Now that you have Chocolate Whipped Cream, Strawberry Whipped Cream and Caramel Whipped Cream, you are ready for all kinds of fun! To the Caramel Whipped Cream, top with Fleur de Sel salt, if desired. Oh how I love salted caramel! For extra pizzazz, top all whipped cream toppings with shaved Hershey’s milk chocolate.
What will you top with your flavored whipped cream?
