Comfortable Sleeping in Monterey

I have said it before, and I will say it again, I love Monterey. The weather is always spectacular when I visit, and I never tire of the sound of the waves, and the sunset views. It wasn’t until this June that I finally stayed at the hotels in Monterey. I’ve always made it a day trip or stayed just outside the city, but then you can’t experience all there is to do, see, and eat on Cannery Row. I was invited to stay and play around Cannery Row so I could share with you my experiences. Let me share with you where I got some comfortable sleeping in Monterey.

Victorian Inn in Monterey, CA

During the first part of my trip to Cannery Row, I stayed at the Victorian Inn, which is a Best Western property – great if you collect rewards! This was such an adorable property with fireplaces in the rooms, afternoon wine and cheese, and a continental breakfast. This property is within walking distance of all of the action, and if you stay up on the third floor, you can even snag views of the ocean. My room was quite spacious and because I am a bed and pillow connoisseur, I am happy to report that both were very comfy. I slept like a baby.

The second part of my Monterey trip was spent at the Monterey Bay Inn. If I were to guess, I’d say this hotel is more expensive than the first, but it gives you fantastic views. My room had a balcony that opened up my room to the ocean. Not much stood between me and the water. The bathroom here was gorgeous, with a double vanity. Once again the bed and pillow did not do me wrong. I kid you not when I say I don’t usually sleep so well when I stay in hotels, but I slept extremely well this entire trip.

If you are looking for a family-friendly place to stay while in Monterey, then I’d go with the Victorian Inn. They have large suites available and my kids personally love when they get breakfast at our hotel.

Monterey Bay Inn

For a couple’s getaway, you can’t go wrong with the Monterey Bay Inn. This hotel speaks romance to me. No hassle of going to the lobby for a continental breakfast, because they will deliver it right to your room – in fact, it’s a requirement! Enjoy breakfast with the incredible views from your balcony. Just outside our hall was a courtyard complete with hot tub and firepit. My blogging friends and I sat around in our big comfy robes and discussed how sad it would be to leave each other and this beautiful hotel, to head home.
