Grocery Outlet is one of those stores that you just have to make a regular stop into, for the essentials, or simply just to browse what’s new. While many Grocery Outlet Bargain Markets carry some of the same brands and products on a regular basis, you can pretty much count on spotting something new each time you go in. Miss Bea and I were perusing the aisles and decided to come up with a healthy trail mix for kids, (her idea). We used several items from the NOSH (Natural, Organic, Specialty, Healthy) department, so we could feel good about snacking.
Even sweeter in regard to Grocery Outlet is all of the awesome deals! Just this past week, my local store was clearing out greek yogurt and had them marked at 8 for $1! You really just never know what you are going to find. The little girl sure had fun picking out items, and tossing them together for a yummy snack. It’s great getting kids involved in preparing healthy meals and snacks, too!
Throughout July, each Sacramento-area Grocery Outlet is promoting Independence From Hunger, where they team up with a local charity, and aid in stopping hunger with a food drive. My Yuba City store is partnering with C.A.N. “Christian Assistance Network” and Yuba Sutter Gleaners Food Bank. Healthy Trail Mix for Kids
Ingredients
- 8 oz Cashew Halves
- 6 individual pckgs organic raisins
- 7 oz Annie's Friends bunny grahams
- 7 oz Pressels
- 4 oz Eden Organic's Wild Berry Mix
- .75 oz Apple Harvest dried apples
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients into a large bowl, toss together and serve!
